ARTIST STATEMENT

My inspiration for painting and drawing often starts with a walk on a beautiful track. I live in the Blue Mountains, NSW and am blessed with an incredibly vast natural landscape to draw inspiration from. I also travel regularly and explore new places. I paint the sunny paths I walk, the vistas, and the ever-changing light and shadow of these dramatic landscapes. 
The process of drawing and painting is meditative. I often paint in the landscape and return to my studio to finish the work.
A connection with nature is an intrinsic need for us to sustain vitality and health, and for me this connection drives my creativity.
Modern living demands much time on computers and phones, and there is an increasing need to balance our days with timeout in the outdoors. 
My drawings and paintings evoke the feelings of connection and wonder with natural worlds, provide memories of the paths walked and showcase the unique patterns, colours and light of the landscapes.
